Construction employment

Simonini Builders news of closing up shop made me think about the current employment conditions in construction. Although it was just reported that construction employment gained jobs last month, which was due to the reversal of a strike of 10,000 workers from the month prior, the industry is still way over employed, there are currently 10 jobs for each housing start, historically that number is closer to 3 employees per housing start so something gives here, either labor comes way down or construction employment sees layoffs.
